Today marks the grand unveiling of the Smart Bus Stop at Adugodi Road, Koramangala—an embodiment of our vision for a smarter, more connected city. After months of hard work, collaboration, and persistent dedication, Shilpa Foundation, in partnership with Sapiens Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., has successfully completed the Smart Nildhana project, a transformative journey that redefines how we move through this vibrant city.
This is more than just a bus stop—it’s a symbol of progress, innovation, and a commitment to the future of Bengaluru’s public transport. From Nrupathunga Road to Kadubeesanahalli and now Koramangala, we’ve built something that will stand the test of time, enhancing the daily lives of countless commuters while paving the way for future advancements.
When we started this journey of redefining Bengaluru’s bus stops, the idea seemed as simple as boarding a bus on time. Little did we know that what lay ahead would be nothing short of a rollercoaster ride—filled with twists, turns, and moments of sheer joy. Today, as we officially inaugurate the third and final phase of the Smart Nildhana project in Koramangala, we feel like proud captains of a ship that has navigated choppy waters to dock at a gleaming harbour.
The Beginning: Nrupathunga Road
Back in October, the inauguration of Smart Nildhana – Phase 1 on Nrupathunga Road marked the start of our ambitious vision under the “Brand Bengaluru” initiative. This wasn’t just about installing bus stops; it was about reimagining public spaces to make them modern, accessible, and inclusive. The inauguration was graced by dignitaries like Transport Minister Shri Ramalinga Reddy and IAS officer Umashankar, whose presence was like a stamp of approval on our fledgling effort.
But let’s not sugarcoat it—getting there was no walk in the park. It involved countless meetings, sleepless nights, and more coffee than we’d care to admit. Yet, when Phase 1 was unveiled, it was like watching your child graduate with flying colours.
Phase 2: Kadubeesanahalli
If Phase 1 was a proud achievement, Phase 2 at Kadubeesanahalli was where we truly hit our stride. Inaugurated by ACP Priya Darshini, the event brought safety and inclusivity to the forefront. Panic buttons, sanitary pad vending machines, and other user-friendly features became the stars of the show.
The presence of our collaborators, including Sapiens Technologies and prominent leaders from PhonePe, added weight to the occasion. By this point, our project had started feeling like a blockbuster movie—with each phase bigger and better than the last.
The Grand Finale: Phase 3 in Koramangala
And here we are, wrapping up this epic trilogy with Smart Nildhana – Phase 3. Located on Adugodi Road, opposite Nexus Mall, this bus stop isn’t just a structure; it’s a statement. Inaugurated by Former Mayor Manjunath Reddy , accompanied by Sushil Mahla and Nisha Hegde from Sapiens Technologies, along with Achuth Gowda from Shilpa Foundation and a host of dignitaries, this phase represents the pinnacle of what community-driven projects can achieve.
As the event drew closer, our team buzzed like bees in a hive, ensuring every detail was perfect. From choosing the right ribbon for the inauguration to double-checking the digital displays, it was an all-hands-on-deck situation.
Thank You: To All Who Made This Possible
We owe this success to so many people, and listing them all would require another blog (or maybe a book). To Sapiens Technologies, your support as part of your CSR initiative has been the wind beneath our wings. To the BBMP, your trust and cooperation have been invaluable. To the dignitaries who graced our events, your encouragement has been like sunshine on a rainy day.
Finally, to our incredible team at Shilpa Foundation—you’ve shown that teamwork truly makes the dream work. Whether it was brainstorming under tight deadlines or managing last-minute hiccups, you’ve handled everything with grace, grit, and a good dose of humour.
Looking Ahead: This is Just the Tip of the Iceberg
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reminded that every end is a new beginning. Smart Nildhana is more than just a project; it’s a promise. A promise to continue working towards a smarter, more connected Bengaluru.
So, here’s to the journey so far—full of bumps, breakthroughs, and beautiful moments. And here’s to the road ahead, where we’ll keep pushing the envelope, breaking barriers, and creating spaces that make life better for everyone.
Because, as they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day, but the bus stops sure make it easier to get there.”
Stay tuned for more community-driven initiatives. Together, let’s build a Bengaluru we’re all proud to call home.
